Coddling Moth degree Codling Moth is one of the most serious pests for apple growers.  If not controlled, nearly all fruit can be damaged.  Biological control methods such as Codling Moth Mating Disruption  has shown to be effective but is challenging for small acreage growers and are usually ineffective, forcing growers to use pesticides.  Following the degree-day calculator helps to more accurately time insecticide application and reduce the number of applications to a minimum.
